Jincup Shizuku L
The Jincup is the pièce de résistance of woodwork artist Jin Akihiro. Each mug is carefully crafted by hand as a one-of-a-kind work of art. The wood is taken from the Japanese Bay tree, an evergreen native to Japan. Remarkably light and fully coated, these mugs are perfect for everyday use. The handle of the Jincup Shizuku is shaped like a drop of water, its unique contour fitting nicely in the hand.
Jin Akihiro is a successful woodwork artist based in Kagoshima, Japan. His design sensibilities center around the progression from lines to curves, and from curves to the surface of an object. The compelling, multi-faceted architecture of his pieces has the power to draw people in. Since his earliest days as an artist in 2002, Jin has excelled in a wide range of endeavors such as producing made-to-order furniture, creating original products, designing home and store interiors, and exhibiting installations. Through his current design philosophy of “handcrafted product design,” he continues to pursue new forms and shapes that elevate his pieces into true works of art.
