Yamamoto Katsunosuke Shoten

Kojin Whisk Broom

$ 36

Flexible and feather-soft broom is ideal for sweeping nooks and crannies and makes a lovely accent piece when hung on a wall.

Made of natural hemp palm, this broom was crafted by Yamamoto Katsunosuke Shoten, established in 1880. Using copper wire, a craftsman carefully rolls each broom by hand into a slim shape. Flexible and extremely soft, this broom is ideal for sweeping tabletops, around fireplaces, stairs, and other narrow spaces. It can also be hung on a wall for easy storage or serve as an accent to a room's interior design.

Hemp palm fiber contains a moderate amount of oil, which prevents dust from flying into the air. Repeated use of this broom will give you gleaming wooden floors and burnished tatami mats. Hemp palm is also highly water-resistant, so with the proper care you can look forward to your broom lasting ten to twenty years.

Yamamoto Katsunosuke Shoten

Established in 1880, Yamamoto Katsunosuke Shoten was originally founded by Yamamoto Katsunosuke, and continues with his three great-granddaughters today. Focusing on growing and developing products using Sansho (traditional Japanese pepper) and Shuro (a type of palm) from the Wakayama region of Japan, Yamamoto Katsunosuke Shoten continues the legacy of their founder today.
