Kamenoko Tawashi

Cleaning Brush, Large

$ 10
A standby in Japanese homes since 1907, the natural coconut fibers in the tawashi cleaning brushes can tackle all of your heavy-duty scrubbing needs.

The more you use this scrubbing brush, the more keenly you feel its durability. Created at a time when detergent was unavailable, tawashi brushes can be used to remove dirt and grime from everything from cast-iron pots and pans to the bathtub. In Japan, these brushes are also used in place of a peeler to scrub the dirt from freshly-picked vegetables while retaining the nutrient-packed skin.

    Features of Coconut Fiber Brushes
    The tips of coconut fibers are uneven and moderately firm. They are great at thoroughly scooping out and scrubbing away dirt and grime, making them perfect for cleaning brushes. However, these fibers are rather stiff, making them less well-suited for use on fragile surfaces.
