Sakon Murakumo, Tsuchime - Gyuto 210 MM

$ 147

Featuring an AUS-8 stainless steel core for excellent edge retention, hardness, and corrosion resistance, this chef's knife combines a comfortable pakka handle with a traditional Japanese Tsuchime finish, blending modern precision with timeless craftsmanship.

This Gyuto knife from the Sakon Murakumo collection features a three-layer blade with high-carbon molybdenum steel AUS-8 at its core and extremely soft stainless steel SUS405 as the outer layers. Enhanced with vanadium, this knife offers exceptional sharpness and ease of sharpening. AUS-8 provides an ideal balance of strength, durability, and corrosion resistance, excelling in sharpness and edge retention with the ability to maintain its edge with routine upkeep.

The "Murakumo" series is inspired by the legendary sword Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi. The blade's distinctive hammered pattern evokes the beauty of Murakumo clouds. It features a stainless bolster and a sleek black Western-style pakka wood handle for comfort and water resistance. The handle is secured to the tang with three rivets, ensuring exceptional strength and durability.
