Employing the techniques of Aizu lacquerware, a traditional art that began in the latter half of the 16^th century in the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture, each Nodate piece is meticulously handmade by skilled lacquer artisans and woodturners utilizing meticulously chosen, solid blocks of natural wood.
